My name is Hina Saleem and I'm an Executive Director of Clinical Operations. I work to optimize and streamline global clinical operations strategy.

What shaped your approach to work the most?

My husband suffers from a rare disease. And so I'm a big proponent for rare disease treatments, therapies, and getting a voice for patients that don't have much recognition from pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

How do you work With Heart™ at Parexel?

Working With Heart™ means being empathetic, compassionate, and passionate about what I do. It's about looking through a different lens and seeing things the way others perceive them. That's what I strive for in everything I do daily. I put myself in others' shoes, considering what I'm asking them to deliver and how I'm bringing teams together. Essentially, I follow the golden rule: "Do unto others as you'd want done unto you".

What is your approach to leadership?

I strive to be the same person at work as I am at home. Authenticity is critically important to me. In my leadership and management, I always aim to bring my authentic self to work every day. I can't fit into a predetermined mold of what a leader should be; I have to be who I am. I've found that when I'm true to myself, I receive the greatest returns. It's like karma – you put out into the world what you want to receive.

What achievement at Parexel are you particularly proud of?

One initiative I'm particularly proud of is a professional development program we've implemented at Parexel. I worked with our talent acquisition, operations, and training development teams to create a pathway for Clinical Research Associates to become Clinical Operations Leads. This program provides career development opportunities, moving individuals from contributor roles to leadership positions. It's been successful since its launch and continues to thrive today. It's definitely one of my proudest achievements.

How do you describe the culture at Parexel in one word?

I would describe the company culture at Parexel in one word: excellence. We embody excellence in every aspect of our work, from the talent we attract to the quality we deliver in both our results and our methods.

What advice do you have for prospective employees?

Bring your best expertise to your job. Work hard, have fun, and play hard.

How does your personal experience influence your day-to-day work?

Patients and caregivers are at the heart of everything I do. I approach every task With Heart™ and with the highest quality, knowing that patients like my husband and families like mine are relying on these potentially life-saving therapies and treatments.

Personal Insights

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I have two wonderful children, twins, and they're my pride and joy. I also have two cats, who are my pride and joy on days when my children aren't necessarily filling that role 😄.

Can you share something about yourself that might surprise people?

I'm actually quite obsessive-compulsive about cleaning and organization. I like everything to be very systematic, whether it's at home or in the workplace. It's become a bit of a running joke – even in work meetings, I'll start organizing things, and people find it quite amusing. But that's just who I am – I can't help but tidy up wherever I go!
