We are looking to fill a Scientist I or II – In vitro assaysposition working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of robust predictive in vitro assays
Maintain laboratory stock, prepare buffers/media, culture cells, and conduct routine experiments
Provide support in the preparation of pharmaceutical products for stability studies and other analytical studies
Follow safe laboratory practices and maintain the work area in a clean orderly and safe manner
Draft, review and execute internal memos
Qualifications: BS Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (minor in Biomedical/Biological), Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related discipline
Scientist 1 - BS with < 1 year of experience
Scientist 2 - BS with 1 -2 years of experience
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with Mammalian Cell Culture including aseptic techniques
Ability to follow safe laboratory practices and maintain work area in a clean orderly and safe manner
Ability to draft, review and execute internal memos
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills to multi-task and to manage multiple projects
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with complex in vitro systems e.g. organoids, microfluidics, and/or co-cultures
Experience with biochemical assays and techniques e.g. ELISA, fluorescent probe assays etc.
A desire to develop complex pharmaceutical products and continuously learn
Ability to adapt to and learn bespoke equipment
Experience with data acquisition systems
A passion to contribute to the development of pharmaceutical products with a significant potential to impact global human health
