About this Role

We are looking to fill a Scientist I or II – In vitro assaysposition working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of robust predictive in vitro assays

  • Maintain laboratory stock, prepare buffers/media, culture cells, and conduct routine experiments

  • Provide support in the preparation of pharmaceutical products for stability studies and other analytical studies

  • Follow safe laboratory practices and maintain the work area in a clean orderly and safe manner

  • Draft, review and execute internal memos

Qualifications: BS Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (minor in Biomedical/Biological), Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related discipline

  • Scientist 1 - BS with < 1 year of experience

  • Scientist 2 - BS with 1 -2 years of experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Mammalian Cell Culture including aseptic techniques

  • Ability to follow safe laboratory practices and maintain work area in a clean orderly and safe manner

  • Ability to draft, review and execute internal memos

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational skills to multi-task and to manage multiple projects

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with complex in vitro systems e.g. organoids, microfluidics, and/or co-cultures

  • Experience with biochemical assays and techniques e.g. ELISA, fluorescent probe assays etc.

  • A desire to develop complex pharmaceutical products and continuously learn

  • Ability to adapt to and learn bespoke equipment

  • Experience with data acquisition systems

  • A passion to contribute to the development of pharmaceutical products with a significant potential to impact global human health
