About this Role

We are looking to fill a Scientist 2 or 3 – Purification Chemist – Small Molecule position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ.  This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Looking for a highly motivated purification chemist to provide chiral/achiral purification to support Discovery Chemistry in a High Throughput Purification Group

Responsibilities

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and repair analytical and preparative LC-MS or SFC instruments

  • Purification of desired products from chemistry reaction crude mixtures (mg-g crude scale) by applying LC/MS, SFC technologies

  • Development of new analytical methods or approaches to address more challenging separations

Qualifications - B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, biology or related field

  • Scientist 2 - B.S. with 1-2 years of relevant experience or M.S. with no experience

  • Scientist 3 - B.S. with 3-5 years of relevant experience or M.S. with 1-2 years of relevant experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Waters instrumentation (UPLC-MS, AutoPurification system, Waters SFC, etc)

  • Knowledge of informatics, basic computer programs (excel, word, etc), Waters operation software -Masslynx, and Virscidian software

  • Experience in purification of small molecules, peptides, and other classes

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a fast paced, team environment.

  • Ability to multi - task and deliver on multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Highly self - motivated, customer - oriented focus and an attention to detail are critical to success in this position to support cross - functional collaborations across diverse research programs

Desired Skills and Experience

  • LC-MS method development knowledge and experiences
  • Experience in high throughput automation and instrumentation applied to chemical compound purification

  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and oral/written communications skills
