Our Early Phase Unit in Glendale, CA is seeking a dynamic Manager of Pharmaceutical Services to lead a high‑performing team dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and innovative investigational product management within a fast‑paced CRO environment. This role is central to ensuring the integrity of our clinical trials—from overseeing pharmacy operations and compliance to partnering with cross‑functional teams that drive early development studies.

*This is a full-time, onsite position in Glendale.

Medication Handling

  • Prepare and dispense investigational products for oral, topical, inhalation, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and IV infusion administration
  • Manage all processes related to ordering, receiving, handling, storage, accountability, preparation, return and destruction of investigational products
  • Develop pharmacy manuals, preparation worksheets, accountability logs, and other relevant source documents in collaboration with clinical trial sponsors
  • Evaluate draft clinical trial protocols to ensure accuracy and feasibility of processes related to investigational product management at early phase clinical unit
  • Provide protocol-specific trainings to pharmacy staff, clinical research coordinators, clinical nurses, research associates and enrollment associates
  • Reviews concomitant medications based on subject disease states and protocols and answers general drug-related questions


Training

  • Oversees the training and implementation of departmental SOPs and inter-departmental SOPs upon approval.
  • Manages all aspects of departmental performance improvement strategies including: identifying areas for improvement, developing an action plan in conjunction with all affected areas/staff, tracking results and reporting results to Associate/Director, Clinical Operations.
  • Maintains and updates knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) and their proper application.
  • Reinforces the use of GCPs as they apply departmentally through example and staff training.
  • Assures compliance to relevant training requirements.
  • Recruits new pharmacy team members in cooperation with Talent Acquisition team


Supervises pharmacy coordinators and technicians

  • Provides work direction and checks pharmacy personnel’s work for first time quality.
  • Time and project assignment management of pharmacy staff
  • Executes performance reviews and other administrative responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of word processing, as well as experience in an administration related area, related to clinical trials
  • Knowledge of applicable international and local guidelines and regulations, e.g. Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Computer skills: ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Clinical Research or hospital environments preferred
  • 1-2 years of direct line management responsibilities

Education:

  • BA, BS, or equivalent and Pharm.D. or RPh required
  • Valid California Pharm.D./RPh license required
